A sea wall is all that lies between the front door and a small sandy and very private little beach!! This cosy self-contained ground floor apartment is the annexe of a seventeenth century house in one of the most enviable positions in Anstruther looking over the harbour towards the May Isle. Situated on Fife's famous coastal path this is the perfect base for walks to Pittenweem, St Monans, Elie and Crail.

St Andrews is just a short 20 minute drive, or within 45 minutes Dundee and Edinburgh. The White House Studio is surrounded by the Golden Fringe of Fife, beautiful countryside, historic fishing villages and wonderful architecture. Of course, not to mention many of the most famous golf courses in the world!

The East Neuk of Fife is located on the coastline on the East of Scotland and is one of the most beautiful places to visit with its quaint little fishing villages (a bit like Cornwall without the traffic!). There is something for everyone in this little hidden paradise.

The apartment is all on one floor (but there is one step from front door to the hall so not suitable for wheelchair users)

Wonderful week, wonderful weather, wonderful accommodation. Thank you for a great place to stay.

Helen & David Philpott

Lovely week despite the grey skies - managed to cycle or walk every day and rewarded by blue skies today. Ate at the Anstruther Fish Bar, The Boathouse and the Waterfront - all good. Also recommend Nardinis in St Andrews for Italian ise cream and cakes. Kellie Castle gardens are beautiful. The Studio is in a perfect spot - everything is within walking distance - didnt use the car at all since we arrived, which is what we had hoped for! Don't forget to try the different loaves at Barnetts Bakery too.

Another brilliant week and plenty more of the above. Not as many fossils spotted this week but so many sunny bracing walks. Fantastic cottage - we love it. Thanks

Graham & Pippa

A lovely cosy apartment. Very well equipped and an ideal base for walking some of the coastal path.

Anthony Welsh

Fantastic week in the lovely situation. So enjoyed the beach walks with our dog, observing fossils - real trip down memory lane for this Carboniferous Palaeontologist. Plenty of mooching about the bookshops in St Andrews too. We recommend the Boathouse on Sunday afternoon for some tunes and a pint of pale ale. Beautiful weather all week, the sun shoe and we felt so welcome here, would really love to come back to the cottage again. Thank you

Mari & John Brown

We have had a great week. The cottage is very warm and comfortable. Weather has been sunny and dry but very cold! We have visited Edinburgh, Perth and St Andrews. We enjoyed walking the coastal path to Pittenweem. The cottage has been a great base and we hope to return. Loved being on this side if the Dreel burn looking on to the main drag and being right next to the sea and those waves - brilliant!

We greatly enjoyed our stay - a wonderful cottage and location! R Thomas, April 2015

Enjoyed a glorious bank holiday weekend here in Anstruther. The coastal path walks were stunning, enjoyed fish & chips from Pittenweem fish bar & lovely Italian food at Little Italy in St Andrews - book as it gets very busy. Cottage was a perfect albeit a wee bit cold at night. Try Crail pottery for nice gifts for yourself or as souvenirs. Kate, May 2013

Another great stay at the cottage. Lucky with the weather again, enjoyed every walk on the beach. Thanks again! Hope to be back next year most relaxing week of the year!! Yanglee, April '13

Our 6th visit to the white house and yet again we leave tired but exhilarated after walking the coastal path from the brilliant base. The flat remains as ever a haven of warmth and cosiness to return to each day. The weather was bracing upon arrival and remained dry and bright throughout. Sadly our favourite eaterie The Dreel closed recently but gave The Bank a try! The walk to Elie is enhanced with a visit to The Ship where we had a meal, bottle of wine and walked back! We will return as we are inevitably drawn back to the East Neuk and the White House. Thanks. Thompson, March '13

We had a very special weekend. Loved the house, the views and the weather. Thank you both. Sweeney Feb '13
